Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque or the Mosque Floating mother was named after the name of Al-Marhum Sultan of Terengganu Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah , daughter of the late Tuanku Tengku Intan Zaharah Seri Setia Raja. The mosque is located 4 km from the city center of Kuala Terengganu . The mosque has a beautiful and unique compared to the mosque which was built. The mosque was built on the water at the mouth of the River Ibai which has made the top floating mosque in Malaysia . The first mosque built in the middle of September 1991 and completed in January 1994 valued at RM6.997 million managed by the Public Works Department designed by Dato ‘Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad, from the Art Bahri by displaying the characteristics of Islamic civilization and the combination of local architecture. Area 1.372 square meters and towers of 30 meters , a large dome and five endowment and is surrounded by 1.5 meter deep water is able to accommodate up to 1,000 pilgrims.
